Journal#4
After reading the whole book I have to say it was very interresting. At first it was of course boring because of all the explantions and information they throw at you. Though after that when the games actually begin it just begins to get more and more interesting. It is a book that was just to be read by one gender group. It has something for both male and female. The action and killing for male, and romance for female. Though I can see both liking all of the content in the book, because at the beginning if you asked me who Katniss would end up with I would of said Gale, but after reading, the general consensus is she end up with Peeta. Though the romance was a good touch, I would like to say the idea of the district sending two people each to an area to kill others for food and goods, was great. Before this book the only book that I had read the had one character somehow killing another was Lord of the Flies, and that book can't even compare on how great this book was. This book was excellent and awesome.

Journal #3
Now for the thrid part. The 3rd is where Katniss is looking for Peeta and finds him injuried. She later nurses him and thinks that by using the love angle between the two she can get the sponsors to help her. The two and chased by mutated dog later. It is also revealed that Cato the leader of careers is last surviving tribute other than Peeta and Katniss. They kill Cato later by Katniss's shooting skills. The announcer announces that there can only be one winner, this causes the two to commit suicide but then he announces again the two are the winners. The games are over the two get interviewed then go one a train holding hands.
I think this part was my favorite it truly showed when the two work together they can do anything. I hope the the second book is as good or better than this one. But this part was the finale of the book, so all I have to say was it was good. I liked the fact that the two worked together and were able to leave to together aswell. Overall it was the best part.

I decided to post my second journal entry to give my view of the second part of the book
Journal #2
The second part is where the action truly begins, mainly because the game have begun. At the beginning the tributes are split, with Katniss being alone. Some time later she learn about Peeta joining the Carreer Tribute or the rich tributes. She joins Rue later and they steal the careers food, Rue is seen by Katniss resembling
her little sister Prim. Later on though Rue is killed by the careers and the whereabouts of Peeta are unknown as he is not part of the careers any more. Then the announcer after Rue's death calls about how two people from a district can win which changes the rules. This makes Katniss wanting to know where Peeta is.
Overall this part was much better than the last, in this one they acutally do something. But I will say the worst part in this was that Rue died, for Katniss it is kind of like her own sister dying. It was where it showed how Katniss was handling everything about joinging the games, it reaction to seeing that Peeta was her enemy. It was a really good part overall, especially that she worked with Rue, but it truly was sad when she died.

ReplyDelete1) At the beginning of The Hunger Games, Katniss lives in an area of District 12 called 'The Seam', where the less-wealthy inhabitants live. Later, she gains a large home in Victor's Village.
ReplyDelete3) Panem is the name of the country Katniss lives in in the Hunger Games.
